Don’t get it wrong, Proton Inspira isn’t a copied!!!...
Inspira is just a rebranding or rebadged of previous Mitsubishi Lancer.
What do you think about the Perodua and Naza?.
They done the same thing too.
Perodua Kancil,Rusa, kelisa, kenari, myvi, and Naza Forte, Citra, Bestari
(you name it).
It was based on Daihatsu, Peugeot and Kia lines.
Here I’m not going to tell you the details and all the specifications, I just wrote it in a simple ways:
A very soon to be launched Proton Inspira generated so much opinion and feedback from Malaysians. Some says it was a copied, but the fact saying it was part of rebranding or rebadge the Lancer.Yes, they did some retouch on a few parts to make it as Proton. That was not something wrong to do it as the Mitsubishi Motors have jointly collaborated with Proton in past project. In reality, they do have a few shares in Proton Holdings. Thus, both gain profit each other. Ever since the Proton Saga to waja, wira, and satria, Mitsubishi has directly benefited its hand.
And now, hopefully Inspira would give its impact on Proton sales.
Do we should buy the Lancer or the Inspira??
You have to think it twice or maybe more.
If you have more money, then you buy the Lancer.
If you want to buy a budget car with a good performance, then the Inspira is the best.
The Proton Inspira is build to face up the current models with more competitive price like those Kia Forte, Toyota Corola Altis, and Honda Civic. From my views, it was very good to have a mid-level Sedan for those who care about the safety, features, styles, and the power of the car. Just similar to the Lancer, Inspira does not compromise with all the needs from top to bottom. The finishing is improved and there’s no more to redone the car.
Looking at the interior to the outside, everything is just well and it’s worth what you have paid. It is believed that Proton Inspira will be start at RM80 thousands for 1.8 and RM95 thousands for 2.0. On the other hand, the price is lesser compared to the Lancer but the Inspira could be better than the Lancer in several perspective.

Those who are not very understood about the automotive arena would belittle and look down upon proton’s capability to build its very own product. Otherwise this is some of the strategic plan for Proton to be more relevant and competitive in the market. Definitely this is the time for Proton to regain the confidence of buyers for its quality and standard even though not using their own ideas.
Yet, proton is not the only company to used Mitsubishi’s platform. For instance, Peugeot 4007 SV model is also based on Mitsubishi outlander. I’m not looking it as something big to be issued and we have to think in a positive way. Proton do has the Lotus Group and me personally look upon to buy the Proton cars if they can make it like “Elise and Evora”.
